For once I remembered to take my camera with me this morning, and after I’d dropped DorkySon at nursery I spent about twenty minutes messing around with it in the park. All the webs look so beautiful when they’re covered in dew, butI really need to get a tripod so that I can do my macro lens justice. There were lots more lovely shots that I wanted to get, but my hands were too shaky.
I ended up having a funny wee chat with a little boy who was on his way to school. He stopped and got off his scooter to see what I was up to – you could almost see him thinking ‘What’s that crazy lady doing crouching over in the bushes?’ – and asked to see some of the pictures on my camera. He liked the ones with spiders in, but thought the leaf ones were boring.
Always nice to get some honest feedback…

Wow these are amazing shots, I love the dew on spider’s webs this time of year.
They look lovely, but do freak me out slightly too. Much prefer looking at the photos to taking the photos!
They are really clear and amazing shots (you sure your hand was shaking?). I love number six. I really like the points of focus that you have chosen especially in the third and fourth one. I really really want a macro lense!

And once again I’m left wishing I took take a half decent photo. Not that yours are half decent – clearly they’re full decent. Oh you know what I mean! Very beautiful dewy photos. Almost makes me want to get up early at the weekend and go off in search of cobwebs. Almost.
I do know what you mean, and you’re very kind. The half decent photos are more due to the camera than the photographer though… I think your weekend might be a bit too precious for web hunting, lovely xx
Wow. At all of them! I especially love the last one – the colours are wonderful and the details of the stripy legs and drops of water are so clear. The focus and the blurring seem just right on that one, it really grabs you to look at it, and the oranges and greens behind… I’m not keen on spiders but could look at that for ages

Thank you! I dithered over which spider to include. I had another shot which was identical but the body was in focus and the legs were out of focus… I went with this one because it was less creepy!
